Abstract

This paper discusses the relationship between economic development and the development of the tourism industry, based on a two-month project in Dangriga, Belize, which existed through collaboration of four University of Arkansas students, local community members and business owners, and organizational partners. This project explored sustainable tourism with the goal of benefiting the community's continued economic advancement.
