Abstract
This article analyzes the Equal Access to Justice Act and its provisions allowing prevailing parties to recover attorney’s fees from the United States. The author explains eligibility requirements, procedural hurdles, and limitations on fee awards. Designed as a statutory primer, the article highlights strategic considerations for litigants challenging federal agency action. The article concludes that effective use of the Act can mitigate the financial burden of litigating against the federal government.
