Abstract
This article examines the statutory and regulatory rights available to agricultural borrowers seeking loan servicing relief during periods of economic hardship. Focusing on the Farm Credit System and the Farmer’s Home Administration, the author outlines restructuring options, deferral mechanisms, and procedural protections afforded to distressed farmers. The article emphasizes the role of borrower advocacy and administrative compliance in preserving access to relief. It concludes that attorneys representing agricultural clients must be attentive to servicing rights that may significantly affect farm viability during economic downturns.
