Abstract
This article was written to inform Arkansas attorneys of the 1981 change in federal and state Medicaid law which now prohibits the transfer of resources by Medicaid applicants and recipients where the transfer is for the purpose of meeting the eligibility requirements of that welfare program. This change is an abrupt departure from prior law, which allowed such transfers, and results in serious consequences for Arkansas residents in need of Medicaid.
