Department Head: Carl Matthews

The Interior Architecture and Design program at the University of Arkansas, established in 1978 within the Department of Home Economics, has evolved significantly over the decades. It became the Bachelor of Interior Design (B.I.D.) by 1999-2000 and was integrated into the Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design in 2010. In August 2022, the program and degree were renamed to Interior Architecture and Design (B.I.A.D.). The curriculum focuses on developing students' creative and problem-solving skills to design environments that provide to diverse human needs and aspirations.
