Dean, Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences: Jeff Edwards

The Arkansas Industrial University was established in 1872 under the Morrill Land-Grant College Act to produce graduates trained in scientific agriculture. It was later renamed the University of Arkansas in 1899. The College of Agriculture was officially established in 1905 and the university's three-part mission of teaching, research, and service in agriculture was fulfilled with the launch of the Cooperative Extension Service in 1951. It became the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences in 1995 - named for former US Senator and Arkansas governor Dale Bumpers.

The Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences is dedicated to improving the quality of life for Arkansans by promoting viable food and agricultural systems, sustainable environments, healthy families and vibrant communities. Bumpers College provides experiential learning opportunities for students, preparing them for successful careers, conducting impactful research, and sharing knowledge while continuing to honor the land-grant tradition.
