Abstract
Microgel catalysts with immobilized binuclear copper(II) complexes were prepared and explored for their ability to hydrolyze the glycosidic bond in model substrates. The reaction is up to 660,000-fold accelerated over the uncatalyzed background reaction in aqueous alkaline solution. A modest selectivity of the catalyst was also observed.
