Abstract
It is no longer a speculation that the actions of the human race have had detrimental impacts on the environment. As consumers become increasingly aware of this fact- and the fact that many of the issues are caused by bad business and environmental management, many individuals are wondering what they can do about it. This growing area of demand is where many businesses have begun to take on the challenge of being profitable while benefiting the environment at the same time, and some have even found ways to create a profit by engaging in activities that directly benefit the environment. Food Loops is one example of the latter: this Northwest Arkansas company focuses on reducing inefficient food waste, which is an often overlooked issue that amplifies food insecurity, poor economic outcomes, and carbon emissions.
