Abstract
We Settled on Sea Monkeys is a young adult novel-in-verse that explores questions of institutional racism, immigration, heritage, and illness through the sci-fi element of medical experimentation. It also examines womanhood, gun violence in America, and adolescent female friendships in diasporic communities.
