Abstract
In this collection, lines between reality and nightmares blur while anxieties and absurdities abound. The characters in these stories are all plagued by something monstrous: yearning, illness, duty. A father is prescribed pills by his doctor and experiences a nightmarish circus; a young man in the future spirals after the breaking of his steel umbrella; a newly engaged fiancée suffers a mysterious rash and embarks on a dark quest to be healed; and a boy receives an MRI in a world where supernatural entities have merged with science. Alternating between darkness and humor, Love, Beasts & Nightmares investigates human nature and its connection to the bestial.
