Abstract

This research explores the significance of the question of whether academic stress affects the quality of sleep among university students across the globe. The following research will explore what can cause university students to experience high levels of academic stress, as well as explore ways that universities as a whole can assist with this stress. The research will also dive deeper into what actually causes these students to experience different qualities of sleep and whether high levels of academic stress are actually what causes low quality of sleep.

Throughout this research, a wide variety of studies and data from these studies will be evaluated to be able to get to the bottom of the reasons behind these struggles among university students. Various academic studies will be reviewed to determine the reason behind academic stress and quality of sleep among university students and whether they actually affect each other, and in which direction, if any correlation whatsoever. By reviewing studies that have been completed using various methods, such as cross-sectional studies, correlational studies, quantitative studies, surveys, and other methods, a correlation between academic stress and quality of sleep, if any, may be able to be exposed.

With all of this said, if important findings can be seen across many studies, we may be able to find certain ways to help improve the lives of university students worldwide. These findings about academic stress and quality of sleep may be able to solve various problems, such as mental health issues, cognitive issues, and even physical health issues.
