Department Chair: Caree Banton

The Department of History offers a broad catalog of courses for students pursuing a Bachelor of Arts, Master of Arts, or Doctor of Philosophy in History. The Department also offers a minor in History. With various experiential learning opportunities available, students are well prepared for graduate school, law school, or social sciences education.

The faculty of the Department of History range widely across the discipline, in a variety of geographies and cultures, from the ancient to the post-modern world, with teaching and research emphases in political, social, diplomatic, cultural, intellectual, and environmental history.
