Abstract

Day two of the course investigates Chinese reactions and responses to COVID-19 with Dr. Kelly Hammond, a member of the U of A history faculty who specializes in the history of East Asia. Her presentation ranges from a history of plagues and outbreaks in modern China to the resistance, resilience and increased surveillance that have emerged during the current pandemic.
