Abstract
This paper examines the integration of AI imaging tools into traditional analog workflows within architecture studios. This looks specifically at the early conceptual design phase and examines, through a research through design approach, how AI imaging tools like Comfyui and Krita can support ideation, material exploration, and spatial composition. This approach will be remaking design exercises from a prior architectural studio, the study critically evaluates the effectiveness of AI tools in addressing design problems, enhancing workflow efficiency, and supporting creative agency. The findings show both the generative potential and the limitations of these AI imaging tools. This emphasizes the need for human curation and critical reflection to maintain architectural intent.
